Psalm

Pslams 133

Psalms 133- This is my favorite Psalm. It is very simple to understand and I get it.

1. How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!

-God likes unity so we should try our hardest to get along and to work together. Brothers here means everybody. My translation for this verse would be “It is very good when everybody gets along.”

2. It is likeprecious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes

This verse is just talking about how good unity is. It is basically just saying, “When everybody gets along, it is very good and is like someone being anointed.”

3. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.

This verse is again just saying how good unity is. It is like “People who live in unity and get along are who God blesses eternal life.”

A god who Reigns

God is in control. He alone rules everything. He has power over the ocean. He is sovereign over the land. He in control over the sky. He can do anything at any moment. Every country had a king… EXCEPT for Israel. Israel wanted a king really bad… they chose a man who they thought would lead well, but he was a bad person. God chose David to be the king next and he was a good ruler. We need to be like David and lead people to God. God can shut this world down on any given day.  He is so powerful the words he speaks create things. We are powerful too. The words we speak create things like: anger, love, and more. God is a humble ruler. Since he is humble we should be humble.  God is so good to us, we are a terrible to him. Jesus can overcome anything even death. Death is what defeats every single human. It is ‘unstoppable’ we can’t defeat it. Only someone with all power can. And that is Jesus.

GENESIS 3

In Genesis 1&2, the stage is set for what all goes wrong. At the end of 1&2 it talks about the tree with the fruit. In chapter 3 it introduces Satan. Satan was a very beautiful angel, he wanted to be the number 1 man so he rebelled against God and in return God sent him to Hell. Satan either appeared in the form of a serpent, or physically posessed the serpent. He then went after Eve. Eve was decieved in verse 4 when the seprent said, “You will not certainly die [if you eat the fruit from the tree], for God knows that when you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Eve ofcourse ate the fruit and then convinced Adam to eat it also. We don’t really think about it but this means basically, you are trying to make your self God, which is Idolitry. Does anyone here know what makes something a sin? Something is a sin if God doesn’t do it. God does not lie, he does not steal, he does not curse, etc. We all want to be like God and God wants us to be like him too. That is why it hurts him so much whenever we sin. It is because we are seperated from God. Lets understand, God does not need us, he was perfectly content without us… On the other hand though, we desperately need God, so we shoyuld do whatever we can to be like him.

Genesis 1 & 2

In Genesis 1 & 2 it talks about the creation. God was never made, he just was. He can just say something and it appears. This shows he is all powerful. He did not stop creating until everything was complete and it was good.  First he made light and seperated it from darkness. Then he created the ocean and land. He says, “Make man in OUR  image” By saying our he means Jesus, God the father, and God the holy spirit a.k.a the trinity. So he created man and then created a helper which is woman.

HABITS by Doug Fields|An Overview

HABITS is a lesson told to a youth group by Doug Fields. “H” stands for Hanging Out With God. It talks about just coming to him and talking on a regular basis. “A” stands for Accountability. This just talks about having a good friend to keep you in check and make sure you stay on the right path. “B” stands for Bible Memorization. This is pretty self-explanatory, All you have to do is memorize verses and then apply them in your life. “I” stands for Involvement in Church. Being involved in Church can be defined in two ways: The first is listening to the lesson and really paying attention. The second is being involved in a youth group, going on missions, helping out around the Church. “T” stands for Tithing. Tithing is giving money you have back to God so he can do more amazing works. “S” stands Scriptures Study. Studying scripture is just understanding what it means, hearing God’s voice, and knowing God’s ways.

I believe the most important one of these is hanging out with God. I struggle with hanging out with God because I have a pretty packed schedule. I realized however, that you can just take 5 minutes before you sleep and pray and just talk to him. It seems like it is difficult, but really the difficult part is remembering to pray. Once you make hanging out with God a habit it will come easy.

I would encourage my friends to watch these because before I took no time with God. Now I have improved by a lot. I’m not doing fantastic at it, but at least a few times a week I spend time with God. Doug Field’s just nailed this one.

5 Bible Verses to Memorize

Psalms 133:1- How good And pleasant it is when brothers live
together in unity.

This passage just reminds me not to fight with my brother and sister. God loves it when you just live in peace with your family. Whenever you fight you lose the unity which God wants, so we should all go the extra mile and love each other instead of only not fighting.

Mathew 19:19- Honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself

This is a very well-known verse. Almost everyone has heard it but they don’t think much of it. Honoring your father and mother is not just saying yes ma’am or yes sir. Honoring your parents includes obeying them, telling them the truth, and respecting them and what they do. Loving your neighbor as yourself is as simple as it sounds.

Romans 1:16- For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

This means to me that we should not be afraid to share our faith.  We should be proud that we are Christians and we should try to convince those who aren’t to become Christian. God brings salvation to all of us, so we should bring all the people to God.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-17- 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually.

No matter in what situation we are in we should always thank God for what he has given us. We should pray through great times and pray through terrible times. It is easy for us now because we are all well off, but think about being in the hardest of times and still thanking God for the little things, living and eating.

Mathew 5:21-22-   “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment.

This verse should be memorized because it says that a sin is a sin. Murder is not a worse sin than anger. Any sin is equal. Sinning is crossing the line. Just think about it, you can’t cross a line more. That is just illogical. So if we say a teeny little lie, God is still hurt just as much as he would be if we would have killed somebody.
